I was reading the Advent devotional by David Cole and he reminds me of a painting I had seen as a teenager at the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh, on Princess Street. I bought a book there that time because of this picture. I was so captivated by this work of art, and here is a photo from the actual book.

David Cole gave new insight with regard to this painting, the angels where carrying St Bridget of Kildare, it was said that she was transported back in time by the two angels to the time of the birth of Jesus to be the midwife. This is a Celtic myth/legend I had not heard of before, making me further intrigued why I was drawn to this painting many years ago. I had not realized its significance and my attraction to John Duncan’s painting, it has a curious title, not eluding anything to St. Bridget, or does it and I don’t know? Titled: Saint Bride 1913.
We limit the almighty God’s ability with our limited and compartmentalization of God. The almighty one is able to do so much more than we realize. God is not restricted by our limited thinking. God’s ways are higher, deeper, wider than what we can imagine or fathom and even comprehend. The angelic realm of heaven, they are the ministering servants of the Lord. They are around to help and aid us.
Talking about unusual transportation, it was not the DeLorean from Back To The Future that Bridget used, it was two angels, given the task of taking her back in time, to help and witness the birth of her Lord.
The following is another unusual supernatural way of transportation:
Philip and the Ethiopian: Acts 8:26-40 New International Version
Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.
The Holy Spirit transported Philip to his next appointed destination. Was this a type of teleportation? He was gone in a blink of an eye, he was suddenly taken away and in another location.
I have thought on occasion wouldn’t this make transporting around so much easier, I want to go to Scotland today. Then beam me there Scotty!
We have, however, not done the basics of our faith:
6 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death,[a] and of faith in God, 2 instruction about cleansing rites,[b] the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And God permitting, we will do so.
4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[c]away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss, they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.
Websites giving further insight, I found interesting:
Was Philip transported miraculously after the Ethiopian was baptized?
