I sang in a Cantata on Sunday 6th December, 2015.
What follows was a song that was sung that has stuck with me, and I have been singing ever since.
It is the season of Advent and we are to take time to get ready for Christ-mas a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus.
“We need God!” We wait for things all our life, expectant for the wait to be fulfilled. We wait for things we are in need of, being patient for our given time at the check out, especially in the Christmas Season. We wait for our children when we are trying to get our the door. We wait our turn at the doctors office, and the list can go on and on.
Do we wait on God or just rush ahead?
God is waiting for you and I, will we take the time to give to our spiritual needs and the needs of God?
Does God have needs we may ask our self?
We have a God who desires quality time, and relationship, desiring us to enter this relationship with a compassionate God, allowing this by sending Jesus, for God so loved the world.
A relationship of any level is only developed by spending time with them, this is how love is demonstrated, and if we do not choose to give quality time, by spend time with our wife or husband, our children, and our friends. How can we expect to have any real meaningful relationships.
Like wise with the Lord. If we do not give time and spend time with the Lord, we are saying we are in control of our lives and don’t need God. We all need God if we realize this or not, God is the one who breathed life into us from the beginning, and wants to breath into us new life again.
Psalm 25: 5b “On you I wait all the day”
Today’s society does not allow for stillness, waiting on God, it is viewed as unproductive. We don’t like to wait for anything. We have fast food, instant coffee, high-speed internet, we want quick service, and we want it now.
We are so busy serving our God that we are to busy to receive from God. We need to pay more attention to what Jesus wants to say to us and less attention to what we can do for him. It’s all about GRACE 🙂
ENJOY THE MOMENT
LIFE WILL PASS US BY, IF WE DON’T SLOW DOWN FOR A MOMENT AND APPRECITE THE GIFT THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN.
JESUS & LIFE, A NEW LIFE, WHEN WE GIVE OUR LIVES OVER TO GOD.
God is with us, and has never left us, it is all determined by how close we want to draw near to the Lord!
